1. What we collect
To run your bookkeeping we collect: your name, email, phone, business details (ABN, entity type, address), your TFN (tax file number), and your financial records — bank statements, receipts, invoices and transactions. We also collect basic enquiry details (name and email) when you contact us through the website or chat.
2. Why we collect it
We use this information only to provide our bookkeeping and administrative services, prepare reports, send invoices, and communicate with you about your work. We do not sell your information to anyone.
3. How we keep it safe
Your TFN and ABN are encrypted before they are stored. Only the Moneywise people assigned to your work (and the account owner) can see your file. Every action on your file is logged. Your data travels over secure, encrypted connections.
4. Who sees it
Only Moneywise staff and the account owner can access your file. We never share your information with other clients or third parties, except where Australian law requires it or where you ask us to (for example, sharing prepared reports with your tax agent).
5. How long we keep it
Australian tax law requires financial records to be kept for at least five years. We keep your records for as long as we provide services, and then for the period the law requires. When you leave, we give you a copy of your records.
6. If something goes wrong
If your information is ever accessed without permission, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law, and help you protect your identity.
7. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask how it is used. Contact us at any time.
